"Dunaire" print exhibition, Cross Gallery, Dublin

A mad journey to Dublin for the opening of this show on Thursday, December 6th.:  afternoon ferry crossing (a bit rough), long journey to the hotel by taxi through Dublin's rush hour traffic; v..e..r..y long taxi ride to the gallery through great clots of cars and a tiny knot of protesters; walking back to the hotel in a fraction of the time it took us to get there; up at the crack of dawn for the 8.10 sailing home; an a long wait while tugboats had to assist docking the ferry at Holyhead (very rough).  All for an hour and a half at the Cross Gallery - but worth it to see the show, and meet up with old friends.  The exhibition space is excellent - a small frontage on Francis Street leads to three rooms, each larger than its predecessor as you walk through to the rear.  The show was well hung (those expensive frames did look very good), the work was varied and generally of a high technical standard.
