Sort-of-almost annual update
The Bwlch y Ddeufaen project has been shown in Galeri, Caernarfon to some acclaim (well, my friends liked it). Three 2.5 metre canvases were installed painlessly thanks to the expertise of Ethan Kith, aerialist extraordinaire. Having rigged the hanging gantry so that it could be operated from ground level, he was able to attach and haul the canvases into position with absolutely no visible effort. A problem did appear afterwards when it became apparent that the area was illuminated with pink fluorescent lights. I failed to spot this beforehand as the previous work in the space was itself pink/red/orange. Fortunately I'd worked in black and white, and the light beams were later angled away from the canvases. I should have thought about it much earlier, but didn't.
The canvases are now home and rolled up in the living room. I think I might turn them into paintings once the weather warms up a bit and I face working in the studio in the garden. There is still a lot of life in the project, and a lot more I can incorporate into a body of work.
